My first stop was Marshall's - my all time favorite store - where I scored a bundle of bargains, and even bought Dan a set of whiskey glasses. Drinking Tina's Balvenie out of 16 oz. plastic beakers just wasn't right and was somehow affecting Dan's ability to add just the right amount of water ("Damn, now I have to add more whiskey.")
Then it was on to Cavender's for boots. These were the ones I secretly coveted
but I chickened out and settled for these which I absolutely love. SO comfortable I barely knew I had 'em on.
I then took myself off for more pampering - a pedicure to make my feet worthy. Amazing what a little retail therapy can do for your marriage. All was forgiven and we took ourselves out on the town.
First stop though was the Texas School Book Depository - strangely haunting to be there even 47 years later.

Unfortunately there were no dance lessons that night, but we did get to see the Annual Amateur Dance Competition. Glen, you'll remember this woman - the human spinning top?
And this couple - the two best dancers in the place? Needless to say, they won.
So, these boots will have to be made just for walking for now. Dan thinks he had a lucky escape, but I happen to know they teach line dancing in Port Townsend.
